Security Guard Accused Of Killing 90-year-old At Facility Where She Worked

A female security guard has been accused of killing a 90-year-old resident at a Georgia elderly apartment complex by stabbing him around 50 times.
Janet Williams, 65, was taken into custody on Thursday after she was identified as the suspected murderer of Chun Ki Kim who had been killed in Atlanta in the 760 block of Sidney Marcus Boulevard NE, Law and Crime reported.
According to an arrest update on the Atlanta Police Department website, on September 25 not long before 8 in the morning, Atlanta cops responded to a report of a person down at the mentioned address.
When the officers arrived at the scene, they found the 90-year-old man with multiple stab wounds and the medical team pronounced him dead.
After further investigation by detectives and the Homicide Unit, the female security guard was then taken to Fulton County Jail with a charge of murder on October 10.
Newsweek has contacted the Atlanta Police Department and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office via email for comment.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, police said that Kim, who was last seen on September 24 at around midday when he returned to the building and took the elevator to the fifth floor, was reportedly stabbed in the face and midriff between 50 and 60 times.
Footage from the building’s surveillance cameras allegedly showed Williams at around 3.15 p.m. on September 24 taking the lift to the fifth floor, the warrant detailed.
She was said to be wearing her police uniform, glasses and a face mask. She also reportedly carried a red grocery bag.
The cameras also caught footage of Williams at around 3.21 p.m. getting back in the elevator.
In the footage, she reportedly no longer had the glasses and mask on, had a tear in her pants, which were stained with what was described as a blood-like substance, and walked with a limp, the outlet added the warrant said.
It was also thought by police that Williams took some belongings of Kim, as the red grocery appeared to be fuller in the footage.
A baseball hat and his wallet were the objects reported missing, but other items may have been taken, the police reportedly noted in the warrant.
Authorities also reportedly said that Williams had allegedly tried to involve herself in the investigation by inquiring about the crime and any evidence police had collected, and staying near Kim’s apartment as the detectives investigated the scene.
The warrant obtained by Atlanta Journal-Constitution reportedly states that no motive has yet been identified for Kim’s murder.
Williams is set to appear in court on November 4, according to Law and Crime.
